ASTANA Mar 14 (PRIME) -- Kazakhstan plans to pump 20,000 tonnes of oil to Germany in April through Russia’s Druzhba export oil pipeline, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov told reporters on Tuesday.
When asked about the oil export plans for April, he said, “The plan amounts to 20,000 tonnes.”
As of the moment, Kazakhstan’s suppliers and consumers of its oil have reached commercial agreements on supplies of 300,000 tonnes of oil in total for 2023, which amounts to about 20,000 tonnes per month, he said.
But Kazakhstan’s national oil company KazTransOil previously requested Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft to reserve 1.2 million tonnes of the Druzhba capacities for transit to Germany in 2023, and 300,000 tonnes were to be pumped in January–March.
When asked for a comment on that, Akchulakov said that the 1.2 million tonnes were a technical possibility but there were commercial nuances to be ironed out, and that agreements were necessary.
KazTransOil pumped its first 20,000-tonne batch of oil to Germany at the end of February, and planned to pump another 20,000 tonnes in March.
